Dry Scalp? What to do with your dry scalp.
Dry scalp means your scalp doesn't produce enough sebum (natural oils of the scalp). This can be due to genetics or due to medical issues, using too drying products e.t.c
What can you do to tackle it?
To tackle it you can apply additional oil to your scalp.Like jojoba oil, avocado oil, almond oil, macadamia nut oil and more. Jojoba oil is highly recommended since it regulates the production of sebum on your scalp. Also nut oils usually are the closest to the sebum of our scalp along with some other types of oil.
As needed part your scalp apply a little oil with the tips of your fingers to your scalp and massage. Do it on a dry scalp and don't wash it out.Massaging also aids in increasing oil production of your scalp. Think of it just like the way we need to moisturize dry skin with a lotion/butter as an analogy of the need to keep your scalp lacking natural oils reinforced. Of course keep on with your normal hair regime. You might need to shampoo more than once to remove the oils that's why you are to use something light and sparingly to avoid that. Also warm water helps remove more oil than cold water. This might reduce you dry scalp issues and even help with flakes caused by excessive dry scalp.
An alternative to this if you don't want to leave in the oil on your scalp is a hot oil treatment done frequently. A hot oil treatment can be done in patches if certain places of your scalp are dry.
