According to the poll in the blog there are some readers who don't know if their hair is damaged. This is for you.

Are you unsure of your hair's condition.Don't know whether it's damaged or not?Do think you have healthy hair but will like to know if you are right? Then continue reading..

Signs your hair is damage:

1. Breakage - You know you have breakage when you see long/short shed pieces of  hair strands that don't have a bulb at the tip, while combing or even touching/styling your hair.

2. Split ends - By looking at your hair strands you can know if a strand of  hair is splitting  into 2, 3, 4 pieces in the mid shaft of the hair or the ends. The split end might be in the initial stage where it has begin splitting but hasn't fully opened into pieces.

3. Dullness - Your hair lacks shine/luster of it's own even when out in the sun and looks fried.

4. Unusual frizz - Some hair types like curly hair and overly thick hair have a frizz of it's own (which is healthy) but there is unhealthy frizz too. You know you have unhealthy frizz when your hair is dull and only part of your hair puff up. That's commonly seen on damaged ends.

5. Losing your hair structure/pattern - If you have curly, crinkly or even wavy hair and all of a sudden after using heat or bleach you end up with straight pieces then you have heat damage/bleach damage.

6.Being on the fence. When you have very dry, oily, mushy hair it serves as an alarm that your hair needs attention (i can't say that it's damage in particular but definitely not in a good condition).

7.Porous hair.-Hair curls easily but doesn't hold it ,takes much time to dry (this can also be caused by the thickness of your hair too in that case it's normal),doesn't take/keep color and other chemical services.

8.You bleach, relax, perm your hair (some dyes also do harm) and in general have chemically treated your hair.-In that case your hair is damaged to some point without doubt but according to the level of the damage  and your hair routine the effects will be evident sooner or not.

    1. Hi Crystal,
from my point of view you have a moderate amount of chemical damage. Since it's only breakage and shedding. That because the texturizer weakened your hair strands. The shedding though could be for various reasons or it could be breakage but you think it's shedding.Anyway I suggest you follow this regime to temporary repair it (do it once a month) and then keep deep conditioning as needed with a moisturizing conditioner:
How to ‘repair’ severely damaged hair NOW !

Also I hope you have a regime on how you care for your hair. How often you wash it, what treatments you have to do to it e.t.c Please let me know if your hair feels any better after trying this.

    1. All right. I replied some suggestions you can give a try. Make sure you do personal research as well and you are not allergic to anything you try. Also having a medical check up would be beneficial. I hope you figure it out.
